During
this activity, I learned about the state and federal requirements for RTI and
applied my knowledge of the RTI process through a student case study.
During the case
study application, I developed an RtI report on a student who was
displaying
learning difficulties at my campus. The report provided an analysis of
the
student’s background, interventions with specified timelines, possible
teacher
supports, and noted possible outcomes. Through the course of the
activity, it
was determined that appropriate instruction and interventions had been
offered.
The student’s language, cultural factors, and attendance were also taken
into
account. Although all factors were considered, the student has not
responded to
the interventions with in the given RtI time frame; therefore, it was
concluded that the student be evaluated for 504 services based on
collective
student data.
