EDLD 5326 Week 2 Reflection

During this weeks activities, I created a proposed school-community partnership which entails revamping our under used and poorly updated web-site. This proposition came about as a collaborative effort to improve our campus' overall parent-community communication. This project will support student achievement by responding to community and parent concerns expressed through our Site Based Decision Making Meeting. Parents and community members have expressed a desire to learn more about our campus and faculty on a more personal level. They would like to see friendly faces and teacher profiles. This endeavor will offer parents 24 hour access to our school vision, mission, goals, objectives, teachers, school/classroom events, as well as important testing dates and schedules. Parents will be better informed, parent attendance rates will increase, two-way communication will be established, and student achievement concerns will be addressed through a revised campus web-site.
