Through the duration of this Research course, I gained true insight to
the meaning of action research, its content, and development process. I believe
that because of the many engaging activities such as: lectures, readings, discussions,
blogs postings, and assignments, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge in the areas
of action research, implementation, and strategies for sustainability. The assignments were
by far, the most effective in: outlining the meaning of action research, providing
meaningful insights from scholar practitioners, providing processes for selecting
an action research topic, providing strategies for conducting action research, providing
templates for creating an action plan blueprint, providing strategies for
sustainment, providing strategies for collaborating effectively with my site
supervisor in order to reach a consensus on my action research topic, providing
instructions for creating a blog site for peer collaboration, and outlining the
benefits of personal reflection (EDLD 5301 Course Assignments, 2012). The
insights that I’ve gained throughout this course will be utilized throughout my
leadership program as I continue to refine my action research project and
leadership skills. Although the course assignments were extremely rigorous and
time consuming in nature, I was truly able to delve into them, as well as the action
research process with much ease and confidence. This was in part due to the
outstanding guidance and support provided throughout the course by Dr. Jenkins,
Dr. Arterbury, Dr. Abshire, Dr. Ashford my instructional associate, my site
supervisor, and fellow leadership classmates. This research course is a
tremendous asset for future leaders!
